Distance, Duration & Facts

The route from Thessaloniki Airport "Makedonia" (SKG) to Hanioti on the Chalkidiki peninsula is one of the busiest routes in the region. The distance is approx. 90 to 95 kilometers (exactly around 93 km depending on the exit). Hanioti (often spelled Chaniotis) is located in the south of the Kassandra peninsula, the first "finger" of Chalkidiki.

A private transfer covers the route under good traffic conditions in approx. 1 hour 10 to 20 minutes. With public buses or shared shuttles it takes significantly longer due to transfer times and stops (up to 2.5 hours).

The route leads over well-maintained roads — primarily via the Thessaloniki – Nea Moudania national road and the Egnatia Odos (E90) towards Kassandra. The access to Hanioti is via the coastal road from Nea Moudania via Pefkohori.

Comparison of Transfer Options & Prices

The choice depends on budget, group size, and comfort requirements. Our private transfer starts at a fixed price: €115 per vehicle (up to 4 people) — often cheaper per head than a shared shuttle, which charges per passenger.

Transport Option Price (from) Duration (approx.) Capacity Best For
Private Transfer (Sedan) €115 – €130 1:10 – 1:20 h 1–4 pax / vehicle Couples/families (fixed price)
Minivan (Private) €150 – €170 1:10 – 1:20 h up to 8 pax Large groups
Shuttle Bus (Shared) €23 – €26 / pax 1:30 – 1:50 h per person Solo travelers & budget
KTEL Bus (Public) €25 – €35 / pax 2:30 – 3:00 h per person Flexible budget travelers
Note: The shuttle price is per person and way. The private transfer fixed price is per vehicle for up to 4 passengers — regardless of whether you travel alone or as four. All prices usually include taxes (VAT); tolls are paid by the transport company.

Private Transfer & Taxi: Comfort on Demand

A private transfer is the most comfortable and reliable option — especially for families or travelers with lots of luggage. Unlike a metered taxi (which costs €120–€150 depending on traffic), the price is agreed in advance as a fixed price: €115 with us for the economy sedan.

Vehicles are assigned according to group size: Economy Sedan (1–4 pax, €115), Premium Sedan like the Mercedes E-Class (€130), and Economy Minivan for up to 8 people (€150). Demand is high in summer — please book in advance.

Included in the Fixed Price

  • Meet & Greet with name sign at baggage claim
  • Waiting time for flight delays (usually 60 min)
  • Luggage assistance (up to 3–4 large bags in sedan)
  • No toll or night surcharges
  • Air-conditioned vehicles, often with bottles of water

When Shuttle, When Private Transfer?

Choose the shuttle bus if you are traveling alone, have light luggage, and want to save money. Choose the private transfer if you are traveling as a family, have lots of luggage, arrive late, or want to go directly to your hotel — without picking up other passengers.

In the high season, taxi stands can get crowded: in August, waiting times can easily exceed 45 minutes at the stand — a pre-booked private transfer, on the other hand, waits punctually with a sign in the Arrivals Hall.
