The route from Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) to Afitos is scenic and well-maintained. The drive leads via the national road and the E90 highway southwards, past Nea Moudania, and then onto the Kassandra peninsula. The route has tolls — these costs are already included in the fixed price.
Especially on Saturdays in July/August (changeover days for charter flights), there is a lot of traffic. Avoid departures between 08:00–09:00 and 17:00–19:00. An evening flight (arrival ~21:00) is often more relaxed, as city rush hour traffic is gone.
